a little dress

Anyone remember Karlapalooza? Well, I wanted to show you what I did with the other
doll dress that I bought while I was there. The first dress went into this shadowbox. As a
side note, I did change the angle of the pic on the dress in the shadowbox ... that was
really bothering me. Anyhoo, this dress was my favorite, not only because of the delicate
pink color but also because it looks like it was well used. I'm sure some little girl really
loved the dolly that was wearing this dress.

The "pocket" is a picture of my dear hubby when he was a boy. Isn't he a cutie? Oh, and
have I ever told you how very much I love craft paper photo corners? They really make
me happy for some reason.

I got the "tree branch as a hanger" idea from that clever girl Dawn. Luckily my hubby
just trimmed our flowering crab and never cleaned up his twigs. The flowers were from a
small cluster that I found while out shopping one day, I nearly passed out. Millinery is
hard to come by here, so that was a very lucky find indeed. The little girl on the tag is a
picture someone gave to me. The text is from one of my old crumbling books.

I am very happy with how this turned out. I really love a quick easy project.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Lori,
This is darling!!!! I also love those photo corners. I guess it's because they remind me of our old photo albums. My mom's albums always had the black photo corners.

Your little dress is so sweet- I love the branch hanger- and the craft paper corners- I've never used them.

I have a box of doll clothes in my closet-You've inspired me to try and use one in a project.

Lori, how sweet the little dress looks. I have always wondered what to do with my baby dress. I don't like the usual shadow box thing, but yours is interesting and very different, I love the flowers. What a good find! Very Nice.

Oh Lori this has turned out so beautiful indeed! I love the photo of your hubby. Personal addings make this artwork even more special, don't you think? Enjoy your project and have a great Sunday

(btw of course I remember Karlapalooza, it is that my name isn't Karla up front, in the middle or in the behind, otherwise I would have caught a plane back then! I'm thinking of changing my name though, what about Karla K.? ;-))

Adorable, Lori. As is the little bunny in the previous post.
My grandmother made tons of these types of dresses for our baby dolls--I'm not sure whatever became of them and sadly we only have a few of them left.
