giddy happy

Oh, and did I mention I am excited too? So, I signed up for Stephenie's "I thought of you
swap". Yep, I know. I have become a swapping fool:) My partner for the swap is the
adorable Robin, whom I recently had the great pleasure of meeting in Leesburg. I decided
I would do a little shopping for my swap today. My day didn't start off so great. The one
store that I really wanted to visit was closed today. Then I went to a re~sale shop where I
have been known to find some cute vintage goodies. I found a lot of crap, but no vintage
goodies. Next, I was off to the library to pick up a book for my son's summer reading.
None of the books on his list were in.

By this time, I was getting a little bit discouraged. But, since I was already up in the town
square I thought I would go to the antique store there. Well, if you visit here much you
know that one of my complaints about my shopping here is the utter lack of millinery. I
bet you know where this is going. Yes!!! I found the mini mother~load of millinery at the
antique store. I was so surprised and excited that I nearly squealed aloud with pleasure.

Lookit:

And these:

*Big sigh* these too:

And for the finale ... these:

Now, I know this is not what you would call a huge score. Nothing you could compare to
the millinery finding prowess of "the hat whisperer". But for me, it is enough.

Oh, I found some great stuff for Robin too:)

41 friends had this to say:

The hat whisperer...I love it. I'm a hat collecting fool to and at one time had over 200 hats I have long since downsized and kept on the ones I wear over and over and over again. Most are big, Edwardian hats with lots of feathers. Sea Witch

Oh my...I'm drooling over here! Gorgeous finds and I can totally relate to the lack of millinery...I rarely find any here and if I do it's outrageously priced!! Glad your day paid off in the end. Can't wait to see what you create.

Hugs,
Karyn

It's going to be such a fun swap! I'm paired with Kitty, Heather's mother, you know her well and I'm sooo excited! It will be so much fun to shop for someone with a similar taste. I think your haul of milinerary flowers is great, more than I will ever find in one shopping round. Of course no one can compete with the hat whisperer! Don't compare to her, compare to me that makes you so much more sattisfied!

Oh my Lori...you definately hit gold with those beautiful flowers. I spent the morning antiquing and came home with a headache. Yeah, that was it, then I set my cell phone down in the backyard and forgot about it, and the sprinklers turned on, and drenched it. Oh well....I hope you have a lovely day. xxoo Valarie

Hi Lori,

I haven't had a chance to stop by for awhile, and I see I've missed all kinds of wonderful posts!

I think if I lived in earlier times I would have chosen millinery as an occupation! I love the flowers, netting, feather, etc.

Great finds, as always!
